Climate

Temperature varies according to seasons. March to October- 15 to 30 degree celsius, November to February- winter season with snowfall likely in the end of December or first week of January, when temperature reaches zero degree Celsius. Places Of Interest Around Jungle Homes (Sirmauli)

Jim Corbett National Park : Corbett National Park is 55 km north of Ram Nagar. Established in 1936 as the Hailey National Park, Corbett National Park is the oldest and one of the most sought after national parks in India. It is India's first sanctuary to come under Project Tiger. The park was named after the hunter-naturalist turned author and photographer, Jim Corbett who lived in the region and contributed in setting up this park. Visitors can move about in vehicles inside the park area after making entries at the respective gates. Tourists can drive their own cars inside Corbett or can hire vehicles from Ramnagar. Permits are necessary for entering Corbett Tiger. Reserve. For day visits, permits are obtained at the respective Entry Gates. However, permits for night halts are. issued at the CTR Reception Office at Ramnagar. Other places worth visiting in the region are the Crocodile Pool,. Dhikala Machaan, Getheryo Library (Dhikala), Corbett Museum (Dhangadi gate), Corbett falls, etc.

Ramnagar : It is a small town in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India. It is located approximately 60 kilometers from Jungle Homes. Ramnagar is the gateway to the Jim Corbett National Park, the oldest national park and a famous tourist destination of India.

Garjiya Devi Temple : Garjiya Devi Temple is located in the Garjiya village near Ramnagar, Uttarakhand, India. It is a sacred Shakti shrine where Garjiya Devi is the presiding deity. The temple is situated over a large rock in the Kosi River and is one of the most famous temples of the Nainital district visited by thousands of devotees during Kartik Poornima, a Hindu holy day celebrated on the fifteenth lunar day of Kartik (November - December).

Seeta Bani Temple : Seeta Bani Temple is dedicated to Devi Sita, consort of Lord Rama. It is believed that she entered into the lap of Mother Earth here. Every year, a fair is held here during Ramanavami. It is located at a distance of 20 km from Ramnagar.

Kumaon Regimental Center (KRC) - Ranikhet : The town is home of the Kumaon Regiment. The KRC Museum and Memorial is a must visit place.

Upat Kalika - Ranikhet : Upat Kalika has one of the best Golf Course (9 holes) in the country and offers a nice jungle walk in the woods as well.

Jhula Devi - Ranikhet : Jhula Devi Temple is famous for the bells. It is said that wishes are granted if one ties a bell in the temple.

Hedakhan Ashram - Chillianaula : This is the famous temple of Baba Hairakhan. The temple is known for its peaceful surroundings.

Binsar Mahadev : Its is an old temple of Lord Shiva. The ambience of the temple is such that one feels in unison with the power ruling the whole universe - the lord himself.

Chaubattia : The major attraction is Govt Apple Garden and the Fruit Research Center. Its at a height of 7000 feet offering the magnificent view of the Himalayas.

Shawl & Tweed Factory - Ranikhet : KRC maintains the factory. It is located inside an old church. Old traditional weaving of cloth on handloom is still alive here. The Australian Merino wool is knit into shawls with beautiful ethnic patterns. The shawls and tweeds woven here are worth buying.

Ram Mandir Tarikhet : It is a developing township, on the way to Ram Nagar. Mahatma Gandhi sojourned at Tarikhet for some time. A hut commemorates his visit to the spot.

Almora - Binsar : Once the summer capital of the Chand Rajas in 7th and 8th centuries is one of the most scenic spots in the Kumaon region. The place is ideal for trekking and communing with nature.

Dunagiri : Daunagiri is a place of religious importance. It is famous for its temple of Goddess Durga, which has an inspiration dating back to 1189 AD.

Kausani : Kausani is a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendor and its spectacular 300 km wide view of the Himalayas.
