Neemrana is an ancient historical town in Alwar district of Rajasthan, India, situated at 122 km from Delhi on the Delhi-Jaipur highway in Behror tehsil. It is situated in between Behror and Shahajahanpur. Neemrana is an industrial hub. This area is also known as Raath region. It is the site of 16th century hill-fort occupied by Chauhans till 1947. The erstwhile ruling family is considered to be the direct lineage of Prithviraj Chauhan. The entire region including Kesroli is full of historical sites. Historians trace it to the Matsya Janapada of the Mahabharata times. In Kesroli one gets to see the oldest remains of Buddhist Vihara at Viratnagar where the Pandavas spent the last year of their exile, Pandupole, where the only reclining statue of Hanuman is seen; the samadhi of the ruler saint Bhartrihari and Talavriksha and many ancient water reservoirs.


Neemrana Developing as The Hub of Japanese Industries

  • Rajasthan various Industrial zones have been developed in Neemrana during last few years. These Industrial zones have been developed by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) in various phases. Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Majarakath
  • The Japanese companies have set up industrial units in the 70 percent area of this Japanese zone spread over around 1200 acres. Hopefully, the rest 30 percent area is expected to filled up by industries soon. 28 industries have been set up by Japanese entrepreneurs in this zone and the unit of Daikin Air-conditioning India Pvt. Ltd., a fully-owned subsidiary of Japan-based Daikin Industries, is especially mentionable. The Neemrana unit is the first unit of company in India with investment of Rs. 600 crores.
  • Similarly, Nissan India Pvt. Ltd. has set up its unit in Neemrana by investing Rs. 240 crores.  Rs. 400 crores have been invested by Mitsui Chemical Pvt. Ltd., Rs. 160 crore by Unicharm India Hygenic Pvt. Ltd., Rs. 120 crore by ACI Mitsui Prime Advanced Composites Pvt. Ltd., Rs. 155 crores by Auto parts company Mikuni India Pvt. Ltd. and Rs. 100 crores by NYK Logistics India Ltd can be counted among the major investments which are making Neemrana a hub of Japanese Industries. After the devolopment of this hub in Neemrana the investment of 21.5 billion it will generate employment for more than 3000 people. The housing and other facilities will also develop here rapidly
  • A unit of the world's largest steel making company 'Nippon Steel' is also under construction in Neemrana where more than Rs. 300 crores is expected to be invested. This steel company has 150 unites across the world.  In the near future many more big companies, including Hero-Honda is going to set up its units here
  • Delhi and its distance from Indira Gandhi International Airport is just 100 kms.  Neemrana has a bright future because apart from being in the proximity to National Capital Region (NCR), it is also a part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and the Delhi-Mumbai freight corridor. In the near future, this area, apart from becoming the biggest auto hub in the country, will also be the closest center to Delhi which is the largest automobile market in the country
  • After Neemrana Phase-1 and Phase-2 now many big industries are coming in Gilot in Phase-3. The important industrial area of Rajasthan - Bhiwadi, which is at the confluence of Delhi-Haryana and Rajasthan is being connected to the Railway network through the Delhi-Mumbai freight corridor.  Neemrana will get maximum benefits from it. Under the National Highway (NH)-8 project, the Delhi-Jaipur highway is being converted into six lane. Many flyovers are being constructed on this route which will reduce the travel time of Neemrana from Delhi and Jaipur. Construction of a Super Express highway, parallel to this six-lane expressway is also being planned which will pass through Neemrana
  • Same as Japanese Industrialists from other countries are also looking eager to invest on big scale in Neemrana. Recently a 25 member team of the 15 African countries visited Neemrana. Similarly, members of the representative body of 3700 companies of Taiwan Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA) has also visited Neemrana to explore the possibilities of Taiwani Zone here.

A plan to construct a cargo airport near Neemrana is also under consideration. This airport is proposed to be constructed in the middle of Ajarka and Kotkasim. This will facilitate the cargo transportation of the finished products of the industries situated in Neemrana, Shahjahanpur, Bhiwadi and Bahrod and they will get transported to their destinations and markets in the least possible time.  To connect this cargo airport to Neemrana, a six-lane dedicated road between Neemrana-Tapukra, which would be just 50 km in length, is also proposed to be constructed.


Neemrana, Shahjahanpur and Bahrod are also proposed to be included as three sub-metropolitan cities in the National Capital Region. Under the DMRC investment region, it is planned to include Neemrana and Khushkheda in the first stage and develop an industrial township on the lines of Noida, Gurgaon and Faridabad. In future, this will lead to an all-round development of the region.
